USDA Forest Service to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for Livestock Grazing in Oregon's Wallowa-Whitman National Forests
The USDA Forest Service plans to prepare an environmental impact statement to authorize livestock grazing in the lower Imnaha area of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forests, following a previous scoping letter sent to 159 individuals and organizations in 2011, which highlighted concerns about the impact on a threatened species, Silene spaldingii or Spalding's catchfly.
