Definition of Spouse Under the Family and Medical Leave Act Revisions

The US Department of Labor has revised the regulation defining 'spouse' under the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, following the US Supreme Court's ruling in United States v. Windsor that struck down a key provision of the Defense of Marriage Act.
