Maine State Plan for State and Local Government Employers Approved

The Maine State and Local Government Only State Plan, a state occupational safety and health plan, has been approved as a developmental plan under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and OSHA regulations, designating the Maine Department of Labor as the state agency responsible for developing and enforcing occupational safety and health standards for state and local government employees in Maine, while OSHA retains full authority for private sector and federal government employees.
