Atlantic Coastal Fisheries Cooperative Management Act Provisions; Horseshoe Crabs; Application for Exempted Fishing Permit, 2012

The US Deputy Director of the Office of Sustainable Fisheries has made a preliminary determination that a permit application for harvesting horseshoe crabs for biomedical purposes is complete and warrants further review, which may lead to the issuance of an exempted fishing permit (EFP) allowing two commercial vessels to fish in a protected reserve.
