U.S. Navy Seeks Authorization to Take Marine Mammals Incidental to Training and Testing Activities in Hawaii-Southern California Study Area

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has received a request from the U.S. Navy to authorize the incidental taking of marine mammals during Navy training and testing activities in the Hawaii-Southern California Training and Testing study area from January 2014 to January 2019. The Navy is seeking regulations under the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) and is inviting public input on the request.
