US Fish and Wildlife Service Lists Arctic, Okhotsk, and Baltic Ringed Seal Subspecies as Threatened, Ladoga Subspecies as Endangered

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has finalized the threatened status for the Arctic, Okhotsk, and Baltic subspecies of the ringed seal, and the endangered status for the Ladoga subspecies, under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The agency will propose critical habitat designation for the Arctic ringed seal in a future rulemaking and solicits public input on the matter.
