Extension of Temporary Protected Status for El Salvador and Automatic Extension of Employment Authorization Documentation

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has extended the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for El Salvador for 18 months, from March 9, 2012, to September 9, 2013, due to ongoing living conditions disruptions caused by earthquakes in 2001. Eligible individuals can re-register and apply for an extension of their Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) through U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
