Coast Guard Establishes Temporary Security Zone in New York Waters

The U.S. Coast Guard is setting up a temporary security area in the East River and Bronx Kill, near Randalls and Wards Islands in New York, to safeguard the President of the United States and other high-ranking government officials. The restricted zone will be enforced by the Captain of the Port New York, who will issue permission for vessels to enter the area.
