Standards for Living Organisms in Ships' Ballast Water Discharged in U.S. Waters: Final Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement

The U.S. Coast Guard has released a final programmatic environmental impact statement (FPEIS) for a rulemaking aimed at regulating living organisms in ships' ballast water discharged in U.S. waters. The proposed standard will help prevent the introduction of nonindigenous species into U.S. waters by approving effective ballast water management methods.
